The Hot Shot Media Group ("HSM") is the developer of a unique suite of interactive online entertainment products, revolving around social photography and based upon the Group's unique 'ImageSocial' platform. HSM allows users to have fun with their memories, using their photos as the key component of social games and photo contests.
HSM, who has offices in Singapore and Sydney as well as its San Francisco headquarters, is preparing to launch the largest photography contest the world has ever seen, with the biggest prize ever offered on the web.
Our contest will search for the world's most iconic, most incredible and most memorable photograph - typifying personal expression, human belief and emotion and capturing the true essence and excitement of one extraordinary moment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
HSM is seeking a talented Senior UI/UX Visual Web Designer. Your main task will be to create and implement world-class, highly engaging and functional visual design solutions based on market research, business requirements, customer feedback, and usability study findings. You will be working closely with our Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to define the visual designs of our products. You will also be supporting Marketing, Investor Relations, Product, and Research teams by creating functional and visually compelling demos, comps, presentations. The ideal candidate will be able to work quickly in an independent fashion, solve problems, make decisions, follow directions when necessary, and communicate effectively in difficult, time-pressured situations.
This position is a contract-to-hire position starting immediately in our San Francisco office.
SKILLS:
• Minimum of 6 years of web design experience
• High proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and InDesign
• High proficiency with HTML5 and CSS
• Working knowledge of JavaScript is a huge plus
• Ability to prototype in HTML, CSS, and Flash
• Experience working closely with front-end engineers
• Illustration and Animation skills are a huge plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to explain conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design rationale both verbally and visually to Engineering, Product, Marketing, Stakeholders, and third party organizations
• Demonstrated mastery of typography, color, and page layouts
• Experience creating a single design and user interface across multiple platforms (web, mobile and desktop)
• Ability to turn around wireframes and mockups quickly in an iterative environment
• Solid understanding of social web sites and applications
• Must understand user behavior as it relates to design
• Understanding of how comps translate to code
• Impeccable problem solving skills
• Supreme attention to detail
• Ability to take constructive criticism, and address requests in a timely manner
• Willing and able to multitask
• Must be self-motivated, good communicator, comfortable with following directions
